Shaun Cook is an Agri-Environmental Specialist with Alberta Agriculture & Forestry’s Water Quality Section. Shaun has an MSc in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases from the University of Calgary, and a BSc in Agricultural Biotechnology from the University of Lethbridge.
Shaun’s research interests include various elements of agriculture’s intersection with the environment, relating to chemical contaminants as well as emerging bacterial pathogens. In his current position, and previously with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Shaun has focused on using scientific approaches to inform optimal and sustainable production practices in agriculture. Recently, Shaun has been responsible for the provincial neonicotinoid water monitoring program in Alberta.
When not busy addressing emerging water quality issues, Shaun is happily occupied with the activities of his three sons, together with his wife.
