Kent is a fourth generation farmer in Irma, Alberta. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Agricultural Economics in 2004. Currently Kent and his father farm 4500 acres of grains and oilseeds including hard red spring wheat, winter wheat, oats, peas, flax, barley and canola. Along with his wife Tausha, Kent is involved in hockey and ball running with their four young children.
Kent currently sits on his local seed plant board and previously chaired the FarmTech planning committee. Kent has been the Chair of the Alberta Wheat Commission Board since its inception in 2012 and was previously Chair of the Alberta Winter Wheat Producers Commission. He brings a youthful enthusiasm to all his endeavors, is willing to talk his way through any problem, and he has the ability to engage in constructive conversations with anyone on a variety of topics.
