Lawrence Yakielashek grew up on a mixed grain, cattle, and sometimes rock farm, in Dauphin Manitoba. He has had a lengthy career in the grain industry starting in April of 1982, with MB pool elevators. He moved to other roles with XCAN Grain, advancing his career to eventually become the head of Topefer International, Canada.
He is currently the General Manager at FarmLink Marketing Solutions. Where the team will tell you that his extensive knowledge of the industry is only matched by his integrity and friendly smile.
His most memorable grain marketing experience was in 2005 bringing together CWB, CFIA, SGS and Indian officials to sell 40.4 million bushels of Canadian Red Spring Wheat as an accredited exporter when no other country hit the terms and conditions, netting the CWB a high price for the Canadian wheat.
When he is not busy helping to make Western Canadian producers more profitable, you can find him at his cabin outside Kenora, snowmobiling, boating and fishing.
