Dr. Jim Wilson retired from South Dakota State University as the Extension Pesticide Education Coordinator after nearly 32 years of service . His expertise includes pesticide laws, safety, and label interpretation, as well as extensive educational experience with proper pesticide application.
Wilson pioneered Sprayer Tune-Up Workshops across South Dakota where producers were given hands-on education on spraying equipment setup and maintenance. He also authored or co-authored numerous publications including an Extension publication on Selecting Drift Reducing Nozzles.
Since his retirement in 2012, Wilson has focused on pattern testing ag spray planes and speaking on pesticide drift minimization. He recently conducted a temperature inversion and spray drift workshop at the 2017 CanoLAB, Dauphin, MB.
