Session Summary
Why don’t farm groups get what they want when they ask? What is the lay of the land in Ottawa? Who are the key decision makers? What lessons have been learned the hard way? How does one connect with the Official Opposition in Ottawa?
Richard will give some tips and advice on how farmers and farm organizations can be effective in steering financial and policy issues through Parliament. He will use recent case studies in success and in failure to illustrate his points. Much of the information is directly applicable to both Federal and Provincial agricultural issues, so if you have a cause you want to advance or want to understand better why no one is listening to you, come prepared to gain a better appreciation of the work you need to do to be successful.
Richard Phillips is one of a handful of people in Canada to be recognized as one of the top lobbyists in Ottawa, for the last four consecutive years.
