Bio
Greg is an independent analyst and consultant. He provides fundamental guidance on agriculture trends and supplies consulting and advisory services to commercial and farm operations. Prior to starting his own company eight years ago, Greg worked for Sparks Companies, Continental Grain, and UGG. He also grew up on a family farm south of Winnipeg.
Session Summary
Think of canola as another global oilseed consuming choice, one that cannot ignore trends in soybeans or palmoil. If price discovery is about speed of supply change versus speed of demand change, what does 2012 look like? Absent a global yield wreck or a surprise global economic fix by governments, average oilseed prices are projected to be lower in 2012/13. Reasons for this and what can be done will be discussed.
