Bio
Colin Bergstrom is the president and precision agriculture consultant with Point Forward Solutions Inc. based in St. Albert, AB. Colin grew up on a grain farm near Meeting Creek, AB and holds a B.Sc in Agriculture from the University of Alberta and currently holds his Professional Agrologist and Certified Crop Advisor designation. Colin has been actively involved with precision agriculture technology for the past ten years.
Session Summary
Colin has been with working with Cedar Brook Farms of Jarvie, AB since 2007 on their implementation of precision agriculture into the farm operation. Initially the work focused on auto steering equipment and from there evolved towards higher accuracy GPS systems and variable rate application to today with an implementation on a test scale of controlled traffic farming. This session will highlight this progression and outline the successes and challenges of this journey.
